Cleaning lady’s friend falls through floor, finds body
ANDERSON (AP) — Authorities in Anderson County are investigating after a body covered in cat litter was found underneath a home.
Investigators say a woman cleaning the home found the body late Monday night. Deputies confirmed the human remains, but had to wait until there was enough light outside to search.
Authorities say the body is that of a woman. The coroner’s office says a woman who lived at the home has been reported missing since July 2011, and her description matches the remains. An autopsy will be needed to determine the identity of the body.
The woman who found the body says no one had lived in the home since February and she was cleaning the house when a friend fell through a hole in the floor and found the remains.
